ium putting some 1/4 or 1/2 on top of that 3/4 to cover all the inperfections. and im anso looking at dampner. im thinking about that foam board insulation to see if that will stop the rattling. do 2 layers on all the metal back there sides floor and roof. i think that may be what i do he only wants $2 for each 4X8foot sheet of the stuff. 10 sheets should do that entire van...then im gonna cover it with 1/8 paneling so that it has a finished look.

personally for a demo vehicle with as much space you have and the power your going to run I'd do ported. Even if its small. 16 12's at 2 cubes a piece. 32 cubes. if you are running say a box thats what maybe 4.5 feet tall by 4.5 feet wide by 4.5 feet deep. will give you 83 cubes of airspace before any bracing etc. thats plenty of space for the subs. The over all volume of the subs will be way more. I'd put like maybe 6 or 8 4 inch areo's in between the subs. only reason I say 4 inch areos is because with space requirements you won't have much space with the box face for a big slot port. But 83 cubes for 16 12's which per sub is 5.25 or so cubes per sub lol. In that van a 4.5 deep tall and wide box wouldn't take up hardly any room. and would make the over all look a little neater too. Because the false floor wouldn't need to be so long either. Looks like now you could throw a blow up mattress in there lol. but what I'm saying is if you have the space, the power, and the subs, why not go ported? it would be one HELL of a van lol.

Tho I have to say this! I may steal that idea of using a 1x1 to put in the corners so drilling is a little easier than trying to hit the mdf. I'm sure makes putting the thing together a lot easier too!

But hey if you ever need a hand with something give me a buzz. I'm only about 3 hours from ya lol. I'd drive down and help if needed for a few beers lol. but my cells 404 387 0604

I hear ya. but why with the space not go ported? I don't get sealed. For space reasons I understand. but you have just about as much space as you would need to do things crazy... even do a tunnel or something. do a tunnel of 16 12's that would be sick. still get away with doing a false floor. just run the false floor all the way to the back of the seats in front. then build the box on top of that. run it fourth order tunnel. thats just me tho. even doing the 12 you plan on running ported would be sick. tho its a lot bigger box yes its also alot more sound. and from the looks of things you want loud lol. or else you wouldn't get with as many drivers. Just for an update what exactly are you going to run as far as equipment?

well, got an update. i went from 235/75/15 tires to 205/65/15 tires. didnt cost me cuz i traded some tires for them. they dropped it down about 2 inches but it still isnt the look im looking for. i figure that ill get 4-1/2 inchwes in the rear and i measured down from the top of the springs on the front with the weight of the van on them to find where i need them cut at. im cutting cuz i dont have a torch...

thos is the front end with no weight on the springs

before i modify the leafs on the back

this is the rearend (chunk) i gotta see when i lower it and put weight in the van if i gotta modify the body like they do the beds of pickups when they are dropped

the new tires... 205/65/15

the new tires again

i have the bottom of the body 11 inches from the shop floor right now with weight on it. i got to lookin and i see theres a cross member that hangs down pretty lopw...so... when i get a 4 inch drop in the front and reat that member will be 3 inches from the ground/ so im gonna see if i can lower the body any without any extreme mods. with the 4 inch drop that body will be 7inches from the ground. i may have to get clever about getting it on the trailer and in and out of the shop. may have to lay 2x12s down to make the trailer ramps longer instead of them being steep.

this is what the tires did for me... not enuf. i want that stealth low look.
